A crown/ cap is usually given post root canal treatment/ deep filling, protect a weak tooth structure and many other reasons.
We have various types of crowns/cap like metal, tooth coloured etc. A crown/cap is given which is best suited to the child's needs.

1. The milk teeth will eventually fall, why does it need a crown/cap?

Ans: Usually when a root canal treatment/ deep filling is performed, the tooth becomes weak and may fracture, get decayed again and therefore to  protect and strengthen the tooth structure a crown/ cap is given.

2. Will it pain?

Ans: No, it is a painless procedure.

3. What are the varieties of caps available?

Ans. We have a wide variety of caps available. We have metal/stainless steel caps, Zirconia/ tooth coloured caps and much more. However, every tooth is given the best suited cap depending upon various factors.

4. Do we have to get the crown removed?

Ans. No, The crown/cap will eventually fall down along with the tooth.
